The Perth Zoo at South Perth is one of Perth's best tourist destinations and is a must see for Perthites to see the changing beautifull gardens and zoo animals.
The ferry from nearby Perth CBD accross the Swan River is a good way to get to the Perth Zoo. The ferry fare to the Perth Zoo is part your train/bus fare and a nice environmental experience. There is limited car parking near the Perth Zoo.
Recently I took Thai tourists to the Perth Zoo. It was good to see many school excursion students studying animals at the Perth Zoo. I enjoyed seeing zoo animals and non-captive animals in the Perth Zoo. It was good to see new animals on display and improved enclosures. | The botanical gardens in the Perth Zoo are a relaxing, naturally cool place to eat lunch. The Perth Zoo restaurant is near the old merry-go-round (carousel) which is still putting smiles on young children as it did for me when I was 5 years old.
Perth Zoo staff are very professional at taking care of zoo animals. They are supported by volunteer friends of Perth Zoo who do things like take groups on tour, explaining facts of Perth Zoo animals and history of the Perth Zoo.
Below is a video of the Perth Zoo. Don't forget to bring your camera to take photos or video of the antics of monkeys, baby giraffes, elephants, lions, crocodiles and other reptiles, birds, kangaroos, etc. |
